DeeDee has been singing in Sweet Adelines off and on since 1996, needing to take an extended break for almost 18 years due to life and getting a college degree. Although she started off singing lead oh so many years ago, she switched to tenor for a few years and now is comfortable as an amazing bass with a lower vocal range.
DeeDee's passion for music started at the very young age of 3 when she would sing with her siblings in church and then as a teenager, she sang with her sister and mom as a trio in church. She was introduced to barbershop and Sweet Adelines when she was only 8 and begged her mom to let her go to rehearsal, promising to be quiet. Sitting in the back of the rehearsal room, the first time she heard the harmony, her jaws dropped and she was hooked.
Now she can't get enough and is hoping that some day she'll be able to say she is a "Queen of Harmony" which is the ultimate goal for any barbershop quartet.
